Design of Movie Theatre

A Movie Theatre is a place where people go to watch movies after buying the required amount of ticket from that particular theatre. Over the ages, it has become a popular entertaining place and people often go out with friends or family members to watch movies. The Design of Movie Theatre is to large extent dependent on the showing of a particular movie.
Traditionally a theatre used to be an auditorium, a single one with rows of seats which were comfortable for seating down to watch a movie. The lobby area constituted of a box office, from where people used to buy tickets, which is predominant also in halls of today. There is also a counter with or without self service to but snacks along with drinks, which are regarded as inseparable parts of a movie. It is said that you enjoy more when you watch a movie with snacks or drinks. Washrooms are also there in these theatres.

ADesign of Movie Theatre, in previous time, it was also kept in mind that stage theatres were often converted to a movie theatre, only by placing screen in the front portion of the hall. A projector, through which a movie is screened is also required for the change.

The seating arrangements in the Design of Movie Theatre, are made in such a way that everyone can view the movie without any hindrance. So, the arrangements are done in a step wise fashion and seats are located in these steps. Normally there is a passage or more than one passage in between for proper movement of the people. This type of seating is often referred as 'Stadium Seating'.

The person who projects the movie to the screen often has a place in the room situated on the top of the hall. So, that light coming from the projector does not collide with any person, otherwise shadow is created on the screen.

Footlights are provided in these theatres which are important in the Design of Movie Theatre, as otherwise, people might fall as the lights are turned off while the screening is in progress. A person normally is appointed in the theatres who is responsible for showing the alloted seats to the viewers as per ticket number.

Another important fact which is the most important point of Design of Movie Theatre, is that the auditorium has to be completely or practically possible soundproof, so that outside noise do not disturb the ongoing show.
